Hi all, bit of a weird one.

I changed my router the other day to a DG834GT I had kicking about as my old one (some ancient US Robotics thing) kept dropping my connection when downloading large files.

Seems to be a problem with the wireless on it though, each time I turn my computer on it fails to acquire the network address when it boots up. I'm the only wireless computer, the other is wired and connects fine.

The only other thing I changed was to setup a virtual machine on my computer at the same time I set up the new router. Is there someway the virtual machine is somehow altering the setting of my main OS (xp) causing it to fail to connect? I highly doubt it but it's the only other thing it could be apart from the router.

Not sure what firmware I have on it but it's fairly recent. Didn't seem to have this problem last time I played with this router.

Any ideas what the problem could be?
