I've been using my Netgear DG834GT router for some time quite happily but always wired. Due to a change in curcumstances I'm having to run a couple of PC's wirelessly now.

I'm pretty sure its setup fine, the machines connect no problem, running WPA encription however everytime I try to download something large (currently the World of Warcraft patch) the connection drops after around 5-10 minutes and the machine, which ever I am downloading on, cannot then find the router. The only way to reconnect is to remove the USB adapter and plug it back in.

If I stick it back on wired, its fine (but not practice). General web browsing and pretty much anything else isnt effected, just when there is a large amount of data to shift.
This is also the case if I try to transfter something from 1 machine to the other. Always lose the connection after 5-10 minutes.

1 machine is using the WG111T USB stick that came with the router, the other using a Belkin wireless G plus Mimo one.

I've updated all the drivers for the USB adapters, and the firmware on the router with no effect at all, any ideas what is making this happen ?

The DG834 (same as you have but wired only) is usually pretty stable however the DG834GT (same hardware with an addon wireless module plugged in and modified firmware+antenna stuck out it's rear) has been known to be quirky. Some people have found enabling SSID broadcast to help, others have reported certain firmware's work better than others, the Netgear forums used to have some good info on this issue but sadly netgear pulled the plug. A beta firmware was touted about that was said to solve the problem's some people had but created other issues, again it wasn't a universal fix for everyone. Putting it in the stand (on it's side) helpd those with heat issues and turning off UPNP and setting it to only use the wifi mode you required may also help. Some people found it to hardly ever require a reboot ... Just one of those things.

Good Luck!
