Wireless Ergonomic Mouse?

I have been using wireless Logitech keyboard and mice for years - the MX800 combo.

I decided to upgrade the mouse to the MX Vertical which took some getting used to. The thing that annoys me at the moment is, despite its claims of 4000 dpi optical tracking, it doesn't feel that sensitive to small movements. I'm not gaming, just trying to move things slightly in CAD or MS Office and I have to give the mouse a wiggle to kind of "wake it up".

I've had this mouse since March, so a good while. I'm just getting a bit annoyed that it was over £70 and doesn't feel very premium.

I have tried it on a desk as well as a "desk mat" - those massive mousemats you sit your keyboard and stuff on. Could it be a surface quality issue?

Any other ergonomic high-performance wireless mouse recommendations?

I had a look at that and it seems they do not have a wireless vertical/ergo mouse.
Still looking. Pretty miffed that this expensive Logitech mouse struggles with small movements.
