Wireless Extender

Planned to run some cat5e up to my bedroom and into some sort of wireless extender, because the wireless connection upstairs is dire in my house. Was wondering if anyone could recommend me a wireless extender? Don't really want to be spending to much more than £50. Thanks.
 
If your running a cable up your after an access point not an extender. Extenders generally retransmit wifi.
I just use an old router I had lying about set it to access point mode and works perfect.
