My friend also has a Linksys router, however he has tried it with the official Microsoft XBOX 360 wireless network adaptor and found it to be a load of pants really.

He gets a far stronger signal with his Linksys "Gaming" wireless access point.

Seeing as you've got a Linksys router, you may as well go for a Lynksis gaming adapter, which is essentially a wireless ethernet bidge and should cost a fair bit less than the official Microsoft jobby.

I have a Lynksis gaming adapter and it works a charm. :)

I use official MS bridge and Linksys Wireless Router (as does my friend, both WRT54G routers) and it's fine.

At the moment iv got the router (linksys wrt54gx) in a bedroom upstairs...the xbox will go downstairs...

i was looking at this one:
Linksys WET54G Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge (NW-002-LS)

what do y'all think?

I have the same. WRT54g router, offical bridge for the 360 and linksys gaming adapter for the old xbox.
No problems. Router upstairs, 360 and old xbox downstairs.

narrowed it down to two i think...I'm trying to decide between the WGA54G (game adapter) and the WET54G (wireless bridge)...

any advice on which one to go for?

If I was to do it again I would get a wireless access point. That way I could run the xbox the 360 and a HTPC off the same device instead of forking out for 3 devices.
