Hi, I play a bit of counterstrike;source and have recently moved house resulting in a need for wireless internet. I got a netgear DG834G (version 4) wireless router and a Netgear WG111 usb adaptor.
( ADAPTOR, ROUTER )

When in game, every minute or two I freeze for about 5 seconds, and then warp to/catch up with where i should be. This tends to get me killed.

Someone mentioned that it could be due to my router searching for other networks.. or something like that. Can anyone suggest what i might change in the router setup to stop this warping effect?
Thanks in advance.

Chris

Try logging in to the router and changing the wireless channels then select in properties of the usb wg111 the same channel, this is done by right clicking on the wireless icon by the clock and status then properties then at the top configure.

Or simply move stuff about until you get a better signal 80% is ideal.
I have the exact same setup and quite frankly think the wg111 is pants I am currently only hitting 60% signal and am thinking of getting the wg311 pci network card instead.

Best thing for this setup I have found is to have as much as possible the router as directly underneath in the room below where your usb is plugged in as possible.
I don't think either device searches for networks unless you tell them to.

try pinging 213.228.232.27 and tell me what you are getting, im getting 20ms-22ms Have you tried connectiong via ethernet cable just to see if this stops it? Also as you have stated that you have moved i take it that you have changed isp? if so what are your router stats and has it been interleaved? or is it cable?
