Good Morning Everyone,

I recently purchased a Creative Soundblaster Zx (the one with the external beam-form mic and volume control) which I plug a hyper z headset into. I would like to go wireless and was looking at the Razer Men'o'war but I have the following concerns: -

- Build quality. I have heard that its not great, the headband is prone to breakage by the looks of things.
- Its got a USB connection so I assume it utilizes its own soundcard and so would not leverage the benefits of the creative Zx?

Ideally I do want to move to a wireless headset to reduce the number of wires I have trailing across my desk so any thoughts, recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I think you mean (Kingston) HyperX headset?
That's one of the few better sound quality gaming headsets, so won't be easy to get same sound quality from wireless anything.
No matter the price because of usually extreme overpricing for cheap trinket quality of gaming stuff.

Sound Blaster Z has one of the better binaural simulations if heaphones are up to the job.
Haven't heard any video with Razer Surround giving anywhere as good immersion.
Just don't use that volume control that much, because as serial resistor based it compromises damping factor and sound quality even if made well otherwise.
You should keep it near full and do fine control with it using Windows volume control for doing most of the job.

Though that beam forming mic opens possibility:
I would trust some Sennheiser RS165 to have at least decent good sound.
Also Sennheiser RSes use standard easily replaceable AAA NiMHs when batteries wear.

So have you tried what sound quality volume controller's mic gives?
