Right, set up my wirelsess about a month ago, it was working fine.

Now, it seems not to want to work. I try to connect, it fails, or says "low or no connectivity" and the reason I get is the following:

The network did not assign a network address to the pc

What can I do?

I am using a cisco 340 WAP, and I know its not a problem with that, really, as someone else in the house, the same distance as me, is connecting to it fine on their laptop.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

1) Ensure you have the correct password.
2) Ensure that you can connect when closer to the router
3) Ensure that the router is running DHCP (assigning IP addresses)

Has it just stopped working in the last couple of day, or did you just try it once and then not again?

well, thats weird, it jsut came back up. it seems to do this regularly every thursday, then its back up fine on *** friday. any thoughts?

Do you use your laptop on other networks? If not you could always force the IP address yourself rather than getting the router to allocate one??

No idea on the Thursday / Friday thing, but just out of interest what happens if you change the date on your laptop so that it thinks it is Friday when it is really Thursday?
