So I'm here in London, I'm getting me a laptop.

But since I won't be in the same accomodation for the whole time I'm here, I'll need wireless net. But how do I do it ?

I've herd a little about GPRS and 3G connections but they seem a little slow and pricey. Is there something like 802.11G connections that the ISP's offer that I log into ?

If I'm missing out some info here, please say and I'll try and fill in the blanks. I know I'm in London and your all in Aussie, but relate it to Sydney or Melbourne's small wireless networks.

PS :: I CBF'ed retyping this from my original post on another forum, so i just reposted here. You should be able to get the jist of it. I'm currently in Hammersmith, but will soon be moving out to East London somewhere.

there is wireless broadband about, BUT not all areas in london get it, thus it relies on you being in the right area. If your roaming about over larger distances 3g would better suit you.

If you need truely wireless internet then you can't really rely on access points. I think your only option is the 3G Datacard from Vodofone.

Like a mobile phone contract for your laptop, charged / mb downloaded rather than time online and is faster than connecting with ** standard mobily
