Hi all,

I can't figure this one out at all.

Just moved to another house and now have a BT connection.

Anyways, Long story short. Vista finds my wireless signal and i get the net. SWEET! so do 2x laptops.
BUT! when in XP i can't find any wireless signal at all!

Wireless device = Belkin F5D9050
Router = Belkin F5D7632-4

Computer O/S XP Pro SP3

As above, works fine on vista full signal, both laptops work fine. But on XP it will not detect any signal at all with either belkins utility or windows own.

I've tried all channels, messing with firewall, security settings, and some other bits and bobs.

Still no joy! i've installed all the latest drivers still no joy. Also, i've tried a asus wireless dongle that does the same.

I've also tried the sfc /scannow command in cmd.

Please help me! i wouldn’t say i'm a noob but i'm no prop when it comes to networks.

Regards

Liam

Ok,

Managed to get the wireless working again, Did a system restore.

However, I'm now having problems with default gateway.

My connection was great all day (no drop out or anything rock solid).

However, Turned the computer on this morning, Connected to the wireless router fine. But no internet.

I'll have a tinker with it later on today. I remember messing with static ip settings in windows so i guess there could be some kind of conflict so i'll reset it all to auto see if that does the trick.

Thanks

Liam

Fixed - Changed chanel to 6.

Anyone else have this problem do the following.

No wireless signal? Possible currupt setting in windows try a system restore.

Get the signal, got the ip address, subnet, gateway but still no joy? Change the chanel in the router config. :)

Cheers
