What do people do for batteries on these things? Just keep buying duracell batteries or do you buy chargeable ones? What works out cheaper?
 
I just went with the Apple rechargeable kit. I'm clueless about battery specifics and technicalities. I just know that I was chewing through standard ones. The mouse is particularly hungry. I may have to change my mouse batteries twice before my keyboard gets anywhere near needing a top up.
 
I use the Mobee Magic Charger for the mouse. I have the dock out of the way connected to a powered USB hub at the side of the desk. Leave the mouse on it to charge once every few nights. I also have teflon tape under the mouse to improve glide, and using the MMC means I don't have to replace the tape like I would if I had to swap batteries out. I think it's great, although it's not cheap.

Currently just using rechargeables for the keyboard, but will be getting the Mobee Magic Bar when that comes out.

If you want to use batteries, the Apple one or Sanyo Eneloop ones are good.
 
Is this the Keyboard and Mouse you get with iMacs? I wonder if it's worth buying them for a Macbook Pro when I have it connected to my 40" TV
 
It's cheaper than using regular batteries over the long term. Rechargeables... no, but it removes stop/swap/forgetting to put the empty ones on charge, or if you're using cheap regular rechargeables, leaving them sitting about and finding when you go to swap them they've bled themselves dry (which is why Eneloops are so ***).

Lazy? Yes. Bit swish? Yes. I like the concept, it works, and once I get the Bar, I'll have a plug socket free since I won't need the wall charger any more.
 
I've been using normal duracells in my magic mouse so far. Third change in what feels like a short space of time. I'll pick up some rechargables for it before this set goes flat.
