hi i wonder if anyone can help or point me in the right direction ,i have a netgear wnr2000 supplies by virgin media for the 50meg internet...the last week or so its dropping the wireless a lot which is annoying the internet works as the pc that are hardwired our ok and still work ....has anyone heard of this and what the soloution is thanks .

ok gone through all the posts again no one with my problem that i can see ive changed it from auto channel to channel 11 see if that helps...or should i use another number channel thanks.

Check for wireless networks in your local area and try and pick a channel nobody is using. But I think the more likely cause of this is the routers position related to the wireless card/sticks position and or the wireless card/stick isn't that good.

Am on the same router and the free usb wireless stick you get from virgin both in same room and it still drops but a little move of the stick suggests that is the real issue.Mind you the router is behind the tv so that could be the problem.
I'd suggest positioning your router and stick better in relation to each other.

hey roachey i also have the same as u if your using the WNR2000 with the N netgear dongle provided i suggest u get another make of dongle i found that netgear dont like its own for some reason fixed the problem with for me

I have the same problem with my Netgear DG834GT. Wired connections are rock solid, but wireless signal cuts out after a while. None of my wireless devices can see the router without a reboot of the router being done.
I've just reloaded the firmware to see if that helps and will monitor......
