(Is this the right forum? I couldn't see a more logical place)

I bought a Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 from OcUK about 2 weeks ago now. I love the look and feel of it, except the wireless system is rubbish. I gives loads of problems in games. Most often it is the keyboard not registering a key is pressed down so in a game you press forward and walk forward but after a few seconds you stop and you have to press the key again!

Anyone else have this, have any suggestions (yes I have pressed the re-sync buttons) or have any alternates that are better. As it is, I've wasted £50! I wasn't expecting something ideal for serious gaming, but would cope with the odd bit.

Where is your reciever located? Sometimes my mobile interferes with my mouse if I have the reciever plugged in the back of the pc under the desk. I moved it to an usb extension on the desk and it's much better.

The keyboard, mouse and reciever are all located on my desk. The puck is about a foot away from both devices.

Does my 11g wireless network cause the interference? Thats the only thing I can think of.

I don't see the point in wireless keyboard and mouse setups. Where do you take them?? Mine stay put on my desk and i don't really notice the wire at the back of keyboard. I couldn't even tell you which side it is on.

I don't really have any other ideas of what to try. I only just got my wireless keyboard because my old saitek eclipse failed and this was the only one I liked the look of. Plus now I can sit in bed and still type.

All wireless keyboards and mice i've used havent been worth the hassle in games

AH MEN and then the batteries go on the fritz and you do not have spares, so you steal/borrow the ones out of the remote, then you get grounded by yah dad cus he cannot turn the channel over :D

Like said above can not see the point in wireless unless you have some home theatre setup, for gaming nothing like wired.

wireless mouse is useful if you have a messy desk.

My wireless keyboard (which was free) is **** though and the receiver is tucked underneath it.

ive had the pleasue of using 3 different MS sets and they have all been rubbish. i dont know wether its down to bad luck or what but i can tell you both of my logitech sets work just fine.

I like wireless ones, it isn't like I want to take them anywhere, more just the lack of wireless makes for a tidier desk.

I had a logitech one a few years ago and that was just the same. I just don't see how people put up with them? I thought the technoloymight have improved, but I guss not.

not everyone needs a mouse/keyb at their desk, my logitech dinovo is used on my HTPC.

I got a wireless mouse because the wire on my old one kept catching on the edge of the pull-out section of my desk, and the scroll wheel started jumping around. The keyboard came with the new mouse, which was handy as my old one was about ready for a good sand-blasting being 8 years old! It's not bad, some of the keys are a bit small and the space bar needs it's own silencer but it's all working fine (after teething problems).

I've got an MX3100 set, and it's been no hassle at all. Having it replaced by Logitech for an MX5500 set though, because the mouse battery life is becoming quite poor and the middle-click has mostly stopped working. Nearly three years old though so I'm not complaining. Always been very happy with Logitech's wireless stuff, it's really good.

Never really liked wireless keyboard/mouse just the fact of having to change batterys and always had problems with ones I've tried in the past and also I work in a computer shop and get endless problems with people using them.

But if you have to get one I would suggest splashing out, as my boss treated himself to an expensive bluetooth one (can't remember brand off hand.) He hasn't had any problems at all with range or interferance.

Depends on the brand I imagine. Bluetooth can sometimes be more temperamental than standard RF, but they may well have improved on it with the newest sets.
