How long do the batts normally last on these? I would like to get rid of some of the wires in the office however I don't want to be changing batteries every other week.....

depends on 2 things... the quality of the keyboard and mouse and what batteries your gonna use...

for example, the duracell batteries in my logitech MX5000(with lcd screen) have lasted about 6 months and still no warning of depletion... whereas my very old PCline keyboard for my other pc lasted about 3hours...

had a wireless keyboard and mouse combo.. logitech it was... peed me off to no end such that im now back to wired mouse and keyboard!

Batteries dying on a keyboard has to be one of the most annoying things ever... (mine would last but a few weeks) now if they could get their act together and produce some good affordable rechargable keyboards then it would be ideal..

yea batterylife is useless. only reason anyone should use a wireless mouse or keyboard is if they have a media centre pc on a tv in the lounge and don;t want 10ft cables running over the floor.

What if they just want a wireless desktop set? Don't think there's any need for justification.

I've had my Logitech MX3100 for over a year. Have had to change the batteries in the keyboard once (and that includes using it for a lot of gaming), and usually have to charge the mouse about once a week or so.

Battery life is an absolute non-issue if you get a decent Logitech or MS set. If you've got your eyes on a set, go for it. I've been happy with mine.

No lag or anything due to wireless either, before someone mentions that.
