Wireless keyboards and gaming? Also spec me a keyboard

I am looking at getting a new keyboard and I was thinking about going wireless as I like being able to put the keyboard on my lap when typing but I can't because the cable on my current one isn't long enough. So I was wondering if there's any noticeable response lag between wireless and wired and if this affects gaming at all?

With that in mind can anyone recommend me a new keyboard. I would like one that looks good and I would also like media buttons but I don't really mind about macro buttons as I don't tend to use them. If it's wired then a long wire would be good. Budget roughly £40 but may be able to go a little higher if it's worth it.

Hi, yeah you do get input lag with wireless devices, no way to avoid it
For a long wired keyboard I have the Razer Tarantula and its v long, no longer sold here tho

The Tarantula looks good but it's a bit pricey

I didn't think about a USB extension cable and I will get one if the keyboard I end up buying doesn't have a long enough cable but I'm after a new keyboard anyway which is what got me thinking about going wireless.

95thrifles you say you do get input lag with any wireless device; is it noticeable on a keyboard when used for gaming?
