Basically Ive set up wireless internet at my house, got the router, everyone is connecting fine and using a shared key.

My question is, how do I set up so that we can access each others computers via a wireless lan, not over the internet, for sharing files, playing games and that? Do I need everyone to put their workgroup to a set name?

Also, can you configure D-Link 624 to "restrict" bandwidth on my network? i.e. giving myself more... and limiting others?

For file sharing it is as simple as setting the workgroup the same and setting up sharing on your computers. I think you can do lan gaming without doing even that, but you might as well really, if you're sharing files.

Cheers zogger.

Another question, whenever anyone is connected to the wireless and using a P2P program, bitlord for example, it works fine for 5 / 10 mins and then cuts the connection off... the computer then has no access to the internet and has to be restarted, anyone heard of anything like this?

Mike

edit: I have NTL 10 Mb, yet just did a speed test and got something like 4.4 on adsl guide? Is that right?

Try port forwarding (here) & see if it stops/helps.

Also you can't 'configure' the D-Link to restrict bandwidth. Should be some software out there which can though :)

Cheers hp, now done port forwarding and getting better download speeds, although thinking they could be better, still got a huge problem with the wireless breaking down though.

If I run any p2p software, like utorrent (which ive just installed instead of bitlord) then the connection dies after 10 minutes or so, doesn't let me get IE or outlook (send / receive). I have to reboot the router and sometimes the computer?

Any help on this would be much appreciated as at the moment no one on our wireless can use any p2p software because it break the wireless!
