Ayup fellas... sorry for the innane and boring question, but I was looking for advice. I have a Logitech G700S and I do like it, how it feels, responds etc but the battery life is, to be frank, garbage. I'm lucky if it lasts 2 days before I need to replace the batts or plug it in. That's ok, but it's either gonna cost me a fortune in double a's, or I'm going to have to plug it in most of the time.. in which case I may as well use a wired one. Has anyone had more success with a different wireless one they can recommend?

I have a R.A.T. 9 which I really like.

It has two batteries which you periodically swap using a small USB charging station which sits on the desk. The batteries last for about ~12 hours of constant use, but you always have one ready to go and they take less than 10 seconds to swap. It's a good system if you don't like wires, like me.

Otherwise, it's really ergonomic and customisable. It's got 2 side buttons which are ideal for me but might not be enough if you prefer loads of buttons for MOBAs etc.

I'm really happy with my logitech m705, currently estimates 2 years left in the batteries! My m305 also lasts forever on a single AA.

Either way, stop using alkalines. Get a set of sanyo eneloops and a decent charger, they will last longer and you an just recharge them!

Woooh people giving anecdotal evidence as gear advice.

Logitech G602 was basically made for exactly the problem you addressed of battery life. Glowingly well reviewed, 250 hours of battery life (claimed) in gaming mode, 1400 in standard mode, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Gigabyte also make claims to substantial battery life in wireless mice but the G602 seems far and away the market leader (lower polling rate and DPI than the G700 as part of the deliberate focus on battery performance combined with wireless performance but you'd struggle to notice unless you're a twitch player at 4k)

I have a 700s as well. Yes the battery is poor so every night just wire it up when you go to bed and you have a full charge for the next day.

Is there any other kind? OP asked about people's experiences with wireless mice and battery life, people post with their experiences with wireless mice and battery life.

Going off "I bought x and thought y" is a really really inefficient way of giving advice and would require 300+ reliable responses to actually cover say the gaming peripherals market, not to mention it's hugely clouded by people wanting to justify their purchases. It's pretty evident from this discussion that that's what people are doing - which is okay, but the G602 is basically objectively a much better mouse, particularly from the perspective of wanting a gaming grade mouse but with proper battery life. Much more efficient to go "You have options a, b and c, about which x, y and z are the general consensus." based on knowing the market and ideally having experience with all of them rather than a thread of "this is what I bought" "this is what I bought" "this is what I bought", as it's those sorts of discussions where fanboys and people just wanting to validate their purchases come out and cloud any useful discussion.

^^ more coffee required.....

well just giving mt 2 cents opinion which is what the op was wanting i thought?

Same as when i ask my mates and they say dont buy its rubbish.

Cant buy all products just to test...thats why we come on here looking for advice and opinion before making our own decision on what to get.

Plus gives the op a starting point to do his own research on other forums and site into said products

Thank you for your very helpful comments and contribution to this thread :)

I've owned a few logitech wireless mice, I posted about the two most recent, does anybody really come to a forum expecting a full random statistical sample of responses that they can analyze?

Nobody seemed to be 'justifying their purchase' just offering up what they had and what the battery life was like. Both of which are pretty objective.

I've got the steelseries sensei wireless. Great mouse, built in battery and goes for ages and charges on a dock. Expensive but I lucked out when I bought mine so had it for a better price. V nice mouse, my first one had a problem but the replacement is going strong.
