Wireless Might Mouse problems

I bought my wireless Might Mouse approximately 10 months ago. about 5 months ago it developed the well-known trackball problem.

I have tried every cleaning article I can find, but I just cannot scroll downwards, it operates just fine in other directions.

I'm heading to London tomorrow and can pop into the Regent street store. Would Apple repair or replace it for free?

The one problem I can foresee is that I don't have a receipt, but I do have the original box, bag and unopened cd/manual etc.

I have tried entering the serial number into the apple uk support site, but it isn't recognised.

For £50 I was expecting a slightly better life-span, so if I can't resolve it this weekend I'm probably going to invest in a new wireless mouse and will be staying well-clear of the mighty mouse. Would anybody like to recommend a good alternative?

Thanks

Its a common problem. Take it into the Regent Street store and they will sort it for you. :)

Thanks for the speedy reply, I initially posted on a popular mac forum but I rarely get replies to my threads for some reason:confused:

Would I need to make an appointment with the apple store? And should I go locate the "Genius Bar" or simply take it to the checkouts?

Just take it to the checkouts. They should be able to sort you out, it happens all the time. If they need you to come back, they may arrange an appointment.

Much appreciated guys, looking forward to scrolling properly again.

I hate that I have optimised my environment the way I like and then it all slows down because of my mouse :p
