When are they going to invent one? Just like your usual PC monitor but NO WIRES! Just tuck it under your arm and off you go. Take it with you to the toilet, bath, garden...the possibilities are endless.
Well, really a tablet isn't that different to the concept of a wireless monitor, especially when you factor in remote desktop applications for tablets.
But outside of that, for all intents and purposes, there's no difference because the type of stuff you'd want to do whilst on the toilet, or in the bath and so on would be perfectly suitable for a tablet.
Samsung have monitors called 'Smart Station' and 'Central Station' (I've reviewed a few, like the C24B750X). The biggest problem with these is that the bandwidth is quite limited and they can't send the video signal directly from the GPU but rather through a sort of emulation system. They use their own onboard video processing so you can't do anything graphically intensive and everything is very laggy. There are a number of wireless HDMI systems under development but again bandwidth is extremely limited at anything above about a couple of metres really.
