I'm looking for a wireless mouse and keyboard to use with my computer, I've never had one before so I don't know how good they are.

I'll need it for on my desktop AND to go into the adjacent room (the other side of a stud wall) so I can use it to access my PC while sitting in there. The Other room will have a projector in it. I'd like to access the files on the computer (video/music). The distance will be 6.5M through a stud wall and around a couple of doorways which don't have any doors on.

Would a wireless mouse/keyboard do this?

Which one would the forum recommend?

Thank you.
:)

I don't know if a wireless setup could do that, my old infra-red keyboard & mouse couldnt. Maybe you can get a radio keyboard/mouse, if they exist  Not much help am i.

Obviously an infra-red keyboard and mouse wouldnt work through walls. However, i'm not aware of ANY keyboards or mice that use that technology any more.

I think you will probably get away with it, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating!

I've got a Logitech wireless mouse and KB for my HTPC setup - they generally need to be in line-of-sight to work. Even if someone puts a cup in front of the sensor, it'll mess up the signal so I doubt you'd have much luck through a wall.

Could you run a USB hub through to the next room and plug extra wired ones into that? Windows has no problems having two mice and keyboards connected.
