Wireless N and G

Hello,

My xbox360 supports a wireless n router however my router is wireless g but does a wireless N router allow wireless G connections to connect (laptop i have may be wireless g). I do have a new laptop which I think is wireless g (not 100% sure) and a desktop pc which is connected wirelessly using a usb dongle. Just thinking would it be a lot better to get a wireless n router aswell as wireless n dongle to speed up internet connection because the internet connection does drop out/slow on the wireless desktop/laptop.

Yes most will, but as far as i'm aware if a G and N device is connected at the same time you get G speeds unless its a dual band wireless router?

So basically all the devices using the router will need to be N or else all devices will use G?
I doubt its dual band, its only a router I got from talktalk

Wireless N and G and B are all compatible at the same time

Yes, Unless you have a dual band router.

If the router is N and the clients are N and G then they will run at their respective speeds.

Dual Band Routers just allow simultaneous use of the 2.4 and 5GHz bands at the same time instead of only one or the other. Both bands can handle Wireless N and G at the same time to multiple clients.

You don't need a dual band router to have N and G, it just means you're going to have to use one band only, 2.4GHz as standard unless your wireless cards all support 5GHz.
