Hi there, I'm trying to find a nice cheap (around £20) usb wireless n adaptor to replace the peice of junk I currently have.
When I say junk, I had to spend 6 hours finding and modifying drivers to allow my current usb wireless g to run on windows 7, so as you can imagine the range and reception on it are terrible.
I'm trying to find a usb that will give me a good connection some distance away, through a solid brick wall and on the lower floor. My wireless N router is about 20-25 feet away from my current usb adaptor but I get about 1/2 to 1/3 of the signal my Ps3 and wii get which are only a couple of feet closer to the router. Over all I get about 18% signal quality (I have DD-WRT running on the router to upp the signal quality and range aswell)
I was looking at a few on amazon and allmost bought one from pc world, untill i read its reviews. All the products I look at have a lot of un technical people eigther giving these 5 or 1 star reviews so its hard to make any informed decision, so I came here, my favourite home of teckies for help.
