Apologies if this is a regular question, but atm I have very little access to the net as I've just moved into Uni and I don't have access in my house. So although it does take little time to search, I don't have the time to go through all the results to get to my answer, sorry.

So to my question,

so far I have used a standard ethernet card for access to the net and haven't bothered with anything fancy, however now I am going to have to purchase a wireless network card as I can't put wiring into my rented house. I am a big downloader but my network will be limited to a 16mb connection, however I will probably be needing some sort of LAN set up also. So my question is what sort of network card should I be looking for or could you recommend anything specific? The router will be free through Sky if that helps.

anything by Netgear cant really go wrong.. if you want a USB adapter Netgear WG111 Wireless 54Mbps USB 2.0 Adapter those are pretty good i hear... as for a PCI option i am currently using a BELKIN F5D7000UK WIRELESS 54G DESKTOP CARD which is OK but drops sometimes.. theres plenty of reviews out there for wireless equipment just type into google "wireless buyers guide" or something. good luck sorry i could not help
