Chaps I have the following wireless set up in the house.
Main pc up stars hi spec and connects to my repeater via a pci 54mb card not g type.
download speed is good 1800 k a sec
In the kitchen I have an older pc p4 2.0g with windows 2000 using a wireless 150mb edimax usb adaptor via the usb1 slot i get 500k a sec.This is g type
In the front room my laptop connects via a pcmcia card and get arounds 500k sec. not g type.
The signal is good due to the repeater and they all connect via it.
Why have i got more speed on the upstairs computer even though they all connect via the same network.
Could I better the kitchen pc by using a usb2 pci card for the usb wireless adaptor? prehaps the usb1 is the bottle neck.
All pc's connect to the network at full signal power.
