I have just got the wireless networking going on my set-up. Am using a Speedtouch 585i v6.

The Problem,
my laptop connects automatically to wireless router and can access the net with no problems.
my sisters laptop which i also set-up was connecting but now isn't. I get the Speedtouch web page message Your DSL connection is down. Verify if your Speedtouch is correctly connected to your dsl line.

Now the router isn't hooked up to the phone line as it won't sync with the line, so the my laptop connects to the wireless router and then through my pc to connect online. A pain but it works, on my laptop at least.

So how do i fix the issue with my sisters laptop ?

Hi,

It seems your wireless router now won't connect but I assume your USB modem will. If the wireless router worked in the past but has now stopped working I would try reseting it to factory defaults and then updating its firmware to the latest version. This is assuming the wireless router wasn't delivered to you preconfigured by your ISP in which case don't reset it but give them a call.

I spent 30 mins trying to get my Netgear 834GT working only to realise I had mistyped my user name in the first place. I would also first try checking your user details etc to save you the bother I had ;)

The router has never connected to the net, i was using the wirelss function on it for the laptops to get online via my main rig through the usb modem.
