Wireless network not detected

I have netgear router Dg834G v2. However i am having problem picking up the signal on my mums laptop. Whenever i search for the network it can not find it however my psp picks up the wireless signal fine. Does anyone know what i could do to fix this. Help would be very much appreciated

I have a feeling we are missing the bluetooth adapter that picks up the wireless signal, is there any way of checking whether it has a pci card intergrated from the menu

nothing comes up when i open net stumbler does all it says is "not scanning" on the bottom middle. DOes that mean there is no wireless adaptor
