Hello,

I want to setup a wireless network to my brothers house so he can use my internet and we can play internet games. MultiMap says distance via roads is 1Mile. So am guessin "birds" view is 0.5 to a 1Mile.

What equiptment will I need? I may also fix my sister up a later date. which is about 0.5miles via road.

as long as you have line of sight a high gain directional antenna such as a panel or a yagi will work a treat. have a couple of 16dB panels over a distance of around 500m (give or take) with ease. they'll set you back around £40 each plus around £10 for tails and convertors at each end and say £45 for a couple of decent linksys wireless access points.

we're using linksys wrt54gl's are the along with the dd-wrt firmware, just google it ;)

Hello,

I've got two Netgear 602's atm that have female rp-sma, thinking i could mate these both to "NET-WL-ANT-826GD 26dBi Outdoor Grid Directional 2.4Ghz Antenna". Since the crappy tiny aerial is removeable.

And buy two cables that do Male "N-Connector" to RP-SMA Female. to connect them to my huge aerials.

Would that work?

Lookin for the exact same kind of thing :)

Is it possible to just have 1x NET-WL-ANT-826GD 26dBi Outdoor Grid Directional 2.4Ghz Antenna, set it up at my friend's house 400metres away and pick up the signal via my PCI belkin pren card?
