Wireless Network Problem

Hi all. I've got a problem that I can't get to the bottom of. I have a Virgin Superhub 2 but my desktop (Edimax PCIE card) only connects to it sometimes. When it doesn't, my other devices like ipad etc still connect to it. When this happens, my edimax card can't see any networks at all although there are many. Usually, switching the router on/off sorts out the problem and sometimes unistalling and reinstalling the driver. I tried replacing the card but to no avail. I'm completely baffled.

Dump wireless, go wired or if that's not possible go powerlines. Are you using windows 10? Tried grabbing the latest drivers from the Edimax site?

Thanks for your help but I'd like to solve the problem. I tried a clean install of Windows 7 and 10 but the problem persists.

You replaced the card and the replacement has the same problem? Is it supported in Windows 7 and/or 10? Does it do it on both OSs?

The problem is probably the card. Got a USB dongle to try as an alternative?

Thanks joeyjojo for your suggestion. I tried two different wireless cards (pci and pcie) on windows 7 and 10 with same issue. The cards work fine in another computer connected to a different router. I did see a tcpip error in the event viewer if that helps. It looks like my router is crashing my card for whatever reason. I will try with usb.

But did you try the drivers from the manufacturer site instead of the outdated disk?

How far is the PC from the router?

The PC is directly above the router together with the PS4 which has no problems connecting. I have tried drivers from Edimax and Realtek. I don't know what happens to the card. It seems okay in device manager but I can't see any networks until I restart the pc, reset the adapter or swith the superhub off and on, sometimes a combination of all these. A few days later, the same problem occurs.
