Building a new system for my girlfriend and I need to get a wireless adapter for the network she is on. I can either get PCI or USB, they are both the same price.
Personal choice would be PCI, Just had better speeds and ranges with PCI than USB, fitted around 11 networks just this year and fitted pci cards in around 9 of them. Good luck.
USB will use a little bit more of your processor (only fractionally).
Benefit is that you could easily remove it (USB) and use it in a laptop or watever other system. And that it is slightly easier to fit.
USB may also be slightly easier to position for the best signal reception as they are on a wire with at least a metre length normally (and you can extend this with a USB extension cable). PCI can often have limited wire length to the aerial meaning poor reception if the PC is on the floor.
