Thinking of going wireless but dont get what router I would need or cards/adapters for that matter.
All I know is I have a 10meg line that seems to achieve on speedtest around 8.5meg so what spec of router and cards would I need to still be able to achieve this.
Sorry for the noob question but this is something I've never looked into and dont fully understand. :)

Start at the beginning... 10Mb, is that Virgin Cable?

If so, you need a cable or ethernet wireless router. If it's not Cable but ADSL, you need an ADSL router.

Wireless side of things, what are you going to be connecting wirelessly? PC, Laptop, AN Other as this affects your choices of what types of cards are available to you

You need a Wireless router, which will commonly be called an "802.11g" wireless router. You need to purchase a wireless router (the virgin modem plugs into here) - this will be what your wireless devices connect to.

You now need to enable devices to talk wirelessly. Smart phones such as iphones, etc and laptops have built in wireless cards so you should be OK on that front. For PC's you need to purchase PCI Wireless NIC Cards, as sold here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-019-BE&groupid=46&catid=1451&subcat=

You then need to plug this into your PC in the correct slot, install drivers and attach it to your wireless network.
