I am looking for the cheapest way to get my original xbox to work via wireless. I am building a new HTPC/downloader so i want to use my original xbox with XBMC downstairs. I do not want to cable it in so wireless it is.

I was thinking about just buying a cheap wireless access point and configuring this to work on the same ip range as the rest of my network and then taking it downstairs, plugging it into the xbox and away i go... I think...

I have seen a guide on how to mod a normal xbox by adding a built in access point so i suppose this is just the same theory...

Anyone got any good links?

I didnt even know that software existed... Wish I did a few months ago, would have been extremely handy.

I am using a linksys gaming adapter with my orginal xbox. I got mine for about £25 i think, it's ok, i'll get a few links for you later once i'm back from uni. I am currently doing the mod you talk about as well.

This Is what i am currently doing to my xbox, i'm going to make a much cleaner job at the back of the xbox though. Just waiting to get my solidering iron back off a mate and the job should be done soon enough. It truely is great to be able to stream music/video content off my network straight to my tv and still be able to play games as well.
