Hi guys,

I need to create a switch I can control wirelessly that has its own power.

It's for a solar iboost CT clamp, basically a very simple circuit, it's literally for one wire either closed or open, but it has to have it's own power source, so battery, and be able to be controlled remotely (all be it I can get pretty close) as the thing is on an outside wall in a little electricity cabinet thing.

Battery life in the relay is a definite bonus.

Any suggestions?

Edit: although I don't know the exact current, this wire is just for signal so very tiny amount I would imagine, basically the relay doesn't need to handle any kind of load really.

I am wondering tif this would work?

It required a 12v power supply, but I could buy a 12v battery and power it off that.

The only thing about the above is the wiring diagram assumes the device is it a circuit, where as this is a single signalling wire, I'm not sure if it would still work?

This is what I am trying to add a switch to, that single signalling wire.

EDIT: Wait I am being soooo thick, cut the wire in the middle, then connect one end to neutral one to live, should make a circuit?
