wireless problem

anyone know what could be my problem i have a netgear wireless router DG834G router, and i can recieve wireless signal downstairs on my laptop . with 3 bars. however it does not see to connect well anyone know what the problem could be

So you can connect on your laptop but cannot see to connect...?

I think he was trying to say it doesn't seem to connect well.

Just because you can get a good recieve signal from the access point does not necessairly mean you will get a good connection. If your laptop has a poor transmix (tx) power then it will fail to maintain a reliable link.

If possible why don't you try moving the router around your house to find a location where it gets a better signal strenght?
