Right heres basically the problem.

The current setup at the moment is cable modem > wired router > switch > wireless router acting as a hub/switch.

Just got my new Dell laptop which has a Intel WiFi 5100 agm wireless adapter.

I have configured it to static ip and it is absolutely fine for just browsing the net.

It is also configured on my router to have a port open for utorrent. However everytime I download something using the wireless connection it just drops and I have to reboot the wireless router which is the one acting as a switch.

My utorrent works fine if plugged in just not with the wireless.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
Tom.

can you check your router setup and see if it disallows incoming packets coming across the internal wan?
I can't confess to knowing a great deal about this, but i think most routers have setting that can control packets across the internal lan and wan.
Worth a shot i guess.

No there is nothing like that in the settings. The router is pretty basic and doesn't have many advanced settings.

Anyone got any suggestions? Could it be a Windows 7 compatibility issue?

most likely iss the windows 7 release candidate, i remember when the vista one came out, i couldnt connect, it alwayss seems a sticky situation in release candidates :) the only thing you can try is plugging it in, otherwise, i would reccomend waiting till the full version.
