Hi there guys,

Im having problems with my wireless and was hoping someone could help me out as I dont know the first thing about networks.

So basically my pc is wired to a router, and there is another router plugged into the wired one purely for wireless and has worked a treat for a long enough. Today i got home from work, fired up the laptop and noticed there was no internet, then looked at my iphone, same story.

Now the PC still works, though that is hard wired. What i find odd though is that the laptop and iphone can still see the wireless network, and say it has a full signal, but they wont let me into it. I put in the password having told the iphone to forget the network, and it just says unable to connect. But if im able to see it, it is working to some extent right?

Anyone know with regards troubleshooting what i should be doing to get to the root of the problem?

Thanks

You should be connecting to the wireless router with your PC to see if it has lost its config or plugging your laptop direct into the wireless router using an ethernet cable and seeing if you get an internet connection, then browse to the wireless routers config page and check that.

Also you have not mentioned what troubleshooting you have already tried, (ie reboot wireless router?) or the make/model etc etc.

The only thing ive really done is retart the router and the make is a Linksys WRT54G.

You need to connect to the Linksys with either your PC using the Linksys's IP address or connect directly to it wired using your Laptop then browse to your Linksys config page using its IP address and check the wireless setup.

Who set this up for you can't you ask them to troubleshoot ?

Beleive it or not, i set it up, though i think it was somewhat of a miracle i managed it, I had a few different websites i used as reference when i did so.
