Hi all,

I am currently with Talk Talk fibre optic broadband services.

I have two Belkin Range extenders (main line for the house is in upstairs bedroom so the main router is up there, one Belkin extender is downstairs in the lounge almost directly beneath the main router and the other Belkin extender is in a downstairs study almost to the rear of the building so is the furthest away from main point).

Every time I connect an extender the WiFi keeps dropping signal. I have tried everything from ensuring the SSID on all routers are kept the same as well as the passwords and playing around with the Wireless channels. The only thing I haven't tried is editing the MAC address but I can't seem to be able to edit this on my Belkin set up page?

The problem with Range Extenders is that they can only extend the signal they get. so if they get a weak signal they can pass that on and it will get worse further away from the Extender. The good thing about the Powerline wireless extenders is that is takes a quick feed from the router and extends that so you might only need the one extender instead of two. Just a thought for you.
