My dad has moved into a new house and there is a garage at the bottom of the garden which he wants to put a ring floodlight camera on.

The broadband router is at the front of the house, so the range doesn’t hit the garage

Without running cables, is there a simple solution to extend the range all the way?

The garage is about 200 m from the back of the house but it’s an old house with solid walls

Assuming there's power at the garage end and line if sight then a point to point WiFi link between the house and garage (e.g. mikrotik wireless wire)

The garage is likely on it own dedicated circuit. If so, powerline performance will be terrible, unless you setup your network correctly. No a crappy range-extender won't reach 200m.
