Wireless Remote dead for Edifier Spinnaker speakers?

Hi, I ordered these speakers online from OCUK and after around 1 month of use the wireless rechargeable remote that came with it won't work anymore, so now I can't turn off my speakers (apart from switching the power off) and change the volume. My speakers are stuck on a really low volume. I put the remote in the charger as usual but when I went to use it - nothing responded and the LED light won't switch on.

What should I do?

Does the remote have a replaceable battery or is it sealed?

it's supposed to be a good quality battery, I wonder what happened to it.

rma just the remote for another?

seems silly to make them sealed

I wonder if one of those all in one remotes would work ?

Would be useful to see if its the remote or the receiver end that has failed if an all in one works with it.

I hope I can just get a replacement remote yeah since the speakers are still great.

remote has been charging for another hour now, still no luck, guess it's getting rma'd but I'll leave it in the charger over night anyway to see if it works in the morning

I hope that's not the case since I'd hate to have to send the speakers back, but I think it's the remote since normally the LED would be on when it's on and especially when it's charging, yet it's completely dead. (if I managed to make any sense of that)
