wireless repeaters...

Im just a little confused over wireless repeaters. For example some wireless access points say they are repeaters and some dont. I was just wondering if an access point is just a differnet name for a repeater.

For example-

Netgear WPN802-UK 108Mbps Wireless Access Point (NW-085-NG)

is that a repeater or ?

It's a MIMO wireless AP that can be configured to be a repeater so in a sense yes it can act as a repeater. why would you want that as a repeater it ranges 1000ft [indoors preferably as it uses reflection to enhance the range]
