Hi,

Ive just currently got Virgin Broadband, and have the supplied ADSL modem, and bought a wireless router last week. The router only has a network input for the internet, and the modem only has a USB output. Whats the best solution to this problem? Is it to buy another router with an inbuilt modem, or to get a new modem with external power input and network cable output to plug into my current router? Or is there any kind of adapter that I can use to plug the USB cable from the modem into the network input on the router?

Cheers for any help.

It sounds like you bought the wrong sort of router. What model is it?

You should have bought a wireless ADSL router (Netgear DG834G for example) and then binned the USB modem.

If you've got a Cable/DSL router (note the lack of A for ADSL) then you can either buy an ethernet ADSL modem or try to return it and exchange for the right product.
