Hi, I want to upgrade my wireless setup but I'm overwhelmed by the amount of cable broadband wireless routers and adapters available on the market.

I'm considering the D-Link DIR-855 or DIR-825 but can't find any reviews on either, has anybody had any experience with either of these routers. For adapters I was considering the D-Link DWA-160 USB adapter as it will give the dualband capability, again has anybody had any experience with this kit.

Alternatively, can anyone give me some advice on a decent setup that will give me good throughput with at least 3 PC's connected, I'll more than likely be using the internet for internet browsing, email, streaming media and some online gaming.

Ta, sniffs.

2930 or whatever draytek call their cable router would be my suggestion.

It ticks all your boxes flawlessly.

Woha !! thats an expensive bit of kit, that is if I'm looking at the right router, do you mean the Draytek Vigor 2930VN, I found it at over £200.

I was surprised that earlier posts were suggesting wireless G routers, this is what I'm currently using.

I have the Netgear WGT624, it seems very slow and is always dropping connections and has to be rebooted. Surely a wireless N router would give better perfomance????

you get what you pay for I guess.

Looking at your sig it's no more than most of your individual components cost.

How much do you care about the dropping connections?

I can also say that I had my 2800 for around 3 years before I upgraded it.

I can't really comment on any of the netgear **** as I stopped using it a while ago because of such issues.

IF you are happy to keep the ntl/virgin whatever the **** they call themselves today modem then you can use a 2820N as it has a wan interface (£130 odd I think)

As for the wireless N giving better wireless performance, that is a question I feel doesn't even need to be answered.... but if you really need to know, yes, it makes a lot of difference, particularly coverage.
