I have this problem with the home wireless router randomly cutting out when in use. When the computer looses the wireless connection the router requires to be turned off and on from the wall in order to get the internet working again.

We have 6 computers on the network, 4 of which are plugged in through cable on the router. The router is a USR8054 (54mbs/125mbs).

Why does the router cut out? Will buying a new router fix the problem? If it does which router should I go for?

Thanks,
Mike

What do the router logs say ? Can you isolate an action by any user that will cause the router to die ? Have you upgraded to the latest firmware ?

I have upgraded to the latest firmware. The router log just lists all the computers that disconnected. Nah the router justs seems to die when we are all using it, like it maybe overloads?
