im completely new to wireless networks so im after some advice.
ive just been looking at the Netgear DG834G 54Mbps Wireless ADSL2+ Modem/Router, will this be ok for use with my laptop? the laptop is 802.11b/g compatible

any recommendations on any other router would also be appreciated, thanks :)

Can't go wrong with Netgear, i've had that model in both wireless/wired format, and it's rock solid.

ok ive picked one up today, great piece of kit! easy installation
one last question though, which should i connect to my ISP with? PPPoE or PPPoA?

Out of interest, is the DG834G still the main choice of router today. I have always bought the DG834G for clients and I am wondering if there is a replacement out now in which everyone is opting for instead since the DG834G is quite old now ?

Netgear have just announced version 4 of the DG834G., ie the DG834Gv4 It uses an improved chipset and the latest downloadable drivers are not compatible with early versions (i.e v3). I think this is the one to go for.. if you can hold of one
