My uncle has AOL. He was going to cancel, but when he phoned up, they offered him a better deal, so he didn't (d'oh!)..

Any way, he's in need of a wireless router so he can use his laptop throughout the house. But i seem to remember hearing somewhere that AOL has problems with some routers - is this true?

Any recommendations gratefully received. Thanks

The NETGEAR DG834G will work perfectly with AOL: http://info.aol.co.uk/help/broadband/installguides/DG834G.html

This is their preferred router - perhaps they'll supply you one free of charge? It's available at no cost to new customers....

Ask if he takes a new 12 month contract will they give him the router or are they going to use the now famous 'New customers only' gaff...

Yeah i got that Netgear router free when i upgraded to 2mb Gold couple of weeks ago, never had any problems at all with it, bog simple to set up, just plugged it in went to the config page, and did the auto setup, after about 5 seconds it came up with the username/password box, just banged in my AOL details and thats it was away. :)
