Wireless router for fixed IP

I need to get a static IP to sync 2 Synology NAS drives together. IVe been advised by the network company that a Draytek 2830 will do the job but Im wondering if I need something that good or if there is a more cheaper solution that could do the job? Happy to go with the Draytek if its worth paying the difference but thought I would check just to make sure first.

Its purely so I can sync backup devices off site (to home), no VPN or anything like that. I currently have a Zywall USG 20 but I cant get it configured with the static IP and havent been able to find anything in the instructions that can help!

Quick bump, can anyone suggest a "good" router that can do the task (basic port forwarding) but also put up with moderate business use of 3 users? Im happy to go with the Draytek2830 if its worth paying the extra?

I've got the static IPs sorted at both ends just need the ports forwarded which seems impossible on my current router!

Yes Ive tried it numerous times but the ports remain closed when I check them. Its really frustrating as I should be able to do everything with it that I need!

I never thought about disabling the firewall but when I have disabled it and checked the port it is still closed! Any ideas? I pressume that the serviced office WAN access shouldnt be blocking anything now I have a static IP? There are plenty of people running VPNs etc when I have enquired. I can check with them but they are utterly useless!

Ah that may be the issue, I will check Ive configured the Synology NAS correctly and report back.

Actually, is there a way to check it any easier to rule out everything? Can a port be forwarded to my PC perhaps or does that also involve setting something up?

If I was in you situation I would look to confirm a few simple things that are easy to check, like that you router is actually forwarding ports to do this I'd install an ftp client on your PC and forward the FTP port from your router to you PC and see if that works.

Thanks, will FileZilla FTP client be ok for this purpose or do I need the FileZilla Server?
