Hello, i have looked at the sticky's and i still have some questions so could someone please help answer them.
I am looking to get a wireless router for my house as i have 2 pc's in different rooms upstairs and i want them both to be able to use the internet wirelessly.
At the same time i will soon be getting a 10mb connection with ntl (got a 4mb connection with ntl at the moment) and i heard that wireless routers cannot keep up with the 10 mb bandwidth, so my downloads would be dramatically slower than they should be, but i see routers saying 300mbps transmit spped, so does this mean i could have a 300mb connection and it could transmit it to my pc? or are the other people right and they cant even transmit 10mb properly?

If i can get the full use of my 10mb would someone help me on which router to get please

thx

10mbit on certain routers (wired or otherwise) can cause problems - I have an old SMC barricade that craps out about 7mbit no matter what. Newer routers rarely suffer this problem eg Netgear wired 614's were known to be problematic - for some10mbit users - but the newer stuff is fine, what exactly did you have in mind as someone is bound to have one and have tested it ?

i am on cable not adsl, and on a 10mbit internet connection people can get downloads speeds of 1mb a second (i know it depends on the other end as well) but i was hoping i could get a wireless router that could potential let me do this, it doesnt have to transmit far at this quality as it will be close to my pc where i will be downloading a lot, but it also has to connect to another pc about 5 meters away (this pc though wont be downloading just surfing the net.

is that what you were asking for Avalon?
