Hi there,

I recently got a Netgear WGT624 v2 a few weeks ago, everything was fine, no problems at all, but now, when i try to connect to it, my laptop isnt picking up the signal at all. If i do a factory restore, it can be seen again, but all I do after that is just change the WPA passkey.. I wouldnt think that would stop the signal being seen.

If anything has any answers or any experience of this, id welcome the help. :)

Yes it is. Its checked auto and I dont touch it, in the settings. Weird problem. My laptop can be within a meter of it and it wont pick it up.

Sounds silly and ive never heard of it happenin but could the laptop not support WPA? try setting a WEP key instead or something similar..

are you using just windows to find the network?

can you see other SECURE networks?

very odd

Could be the channel the router / wireless device is operating at.

Make sure the channel number is alright. What wireless dongle/pci card you using?

It was working fine, weeks ago with WPA and I also have a WG11T dongle lying around, that couldnt pick it up before. If i use cables to connect to it, everything is fine.. It just doesnt seem to be giving off a signal. I'll look into the channels.

a lil update.. seems my laptop is the main problem. when i looked at the wireless settings, it all seemed fine, it was enabled etc, but when i actually looked into the driver itself, it said the wireless was turned off. I guess looks can be deceiving. once i switched it on near the driver, it picked up the router. I'll test it again later too, but thanks for all your help. If people dont understand what i meant, ill do a screenshot lol
