Basically true. 802.11g is the most common wireless standard, the wireless network card in your laptop should support it, you just need a wireless ADSL router that supports it too.

Your laptop will 99% certain have wirless built in and if will 99% be G standard. All you need is a wireless adsl modem router.

My home line has been changed over to Tiscali LLU and I have been tetsing various kits of work on the line and so far only come across one router that had issues and that was a Solwise router.

Voyager 2091 - worked
Dlink DSL-624T - worked
Netgear - DG834 wireless - worked
Dlink DSL-624M - worked
Netgear - DG834N - worked
Voyager 2110 - worked

I would say if you stick with a major brnad name such as Dlink, Netgear, Linksys you will not have any issues at all.

Vista compatibility isn't down to the router really. As long as you have drivers for your laptop's wireless card there is absolutely no reason at all why it won't work with any Wireless AP/router.

Thanks laptop come with wireless standard :) as i can get other peoples signal just need a password :p

I was already and had a netgear router in my hand till i said would it work with vista and they said i wouldnt think so  so i had put the item back

Will go back down tomorrow and get that one :D
