Wireless signal booster

Are there any wireless boosters that connect to a computer as opposed to a full on booster that retransmits the wireless signal?

For example an ariel that plugs into the USB or PCI (?) socket.

High Gain arials are what you need to look for. Though remember the router needs to talk back so you may need to fit one to that too.

Also directional arials are better that omni directional ones for wireless clients but not for routers.
