Wireless signal falling short

Hey.
g/fs just moved into a new flat where they've just got a phoneline installed and sky broadband setup with a wireless router, which is based next to the front door

She uses her laptop in her bedroom, which is basically down the corridor and up a set of stairs, and shes not getting any signal. The only way she gets it if shes sat at the front door, which is not ideal :D

Solutions wise: whats the options, preferbally the cheapest ?

Help appreciated :)
 
Apparantly there is no antenna, im presuming internal ? Some router for sky, not the most useful info i know lol, but she hasnt provided me with a whole lot of info, useless women haha. Im heading down there sometime this week take a look, might even take my speedtouch wireless router, see if that works/improves it.
